Students in STEM Labs work through a series project-based learning engagement utilizing a wide variety of applied technologies. STEM Lab Facilitators coach and teach students through a facilitative style of instructional delivery.  Facilitators must have a passion for STEM education, expert at differentiated instruction and familiar with the use of constructivist learning techniques.

The role of the Instructional Specialist is to improve student achievement by building teachers capacity and understanding of instructional practices. The specialist, in conjunction with the administration, is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. IS are expected to support the instructional development of content level teachers which means they will work with teachers in the content area. Specialists will bring a particular subject-area expertise; their focus is on improving instructional quality across all subject areas using an inter-discipline/trans-discipline approach. Specialists will create a schedule with their administration listing the teachers they work with on a rotational basis. Specialists will work with high will teachers in ensuring that they meet their performance management targets. Specialists will be required to build curriculum and support teachers in understanding the curriculum and writing it. They must have working knowledge of Understanding by Design, standards based learning and data analysis. Specialists should come with the ability to build strong relationships with teachers, administrator and other specialist. It is essential that all coaches work collaboratively and as a team. The mission of Friendship Public Charter School is to prepare students to become ethical, literate, well-rounded and self-sufficient citizens by providing a world-class education that motivates students to reach high academic standards, to enjoy learning, to achieve success, and to contribute actively to their communities.   The Primary Year Program (PYP) Coordinator is responsible for partnering with school administration and International Baccalaureate (IB) as an instructional specialist, data coach, learning facilitator, school leader, and catalyst for change. The PYP Coordinator will play a key role in enhancing student learning by supporting instructional effectiveness through facilitation of teacher collaboration; individual coaching; professional development planning, facilitation, and assessment of programs. A commitment to collaborative planning is central to the philosophy of the PYP. The PYP coordinator has a pivotal role in this process, taking responsibility for ensuring that pedagogical aspects are discussed, information is disseminated and the program is planned, taught and assessed collaboratively.   Together with other members of the school's leadership team, the PYP coordinator is involved in the whole-school implementation and organization of the program. Besides maintaining contact with school administrators, the PYP coordinator should communicate directly with all members of the teaching team and be involved in whole-school planning, as well as in-school and out-of-school professional development.   Please note the salary range is $80k-$90k.
