As the nation's first multi-campus charter school, Friendship Public Charter School has been producing college-ready students for over 15 years. From Preschool through 12th grade, Friendship invests in providing a rigorous academic curriculum that enables our children to excel as ethical, literate, and well-rounded leaders in a 21st century economy.    The Dedicated Aide works with an instructional team consisting of the lead teacher, a special education teacher and/or paraprofessional. The dedicated aide – special education may work to support the program, ensuring consistency for identified children throughout the day. This individual provides individual instructional support for a child/children with Individualized Educational Plans (IEP) using intensive, research-based strategies under the direct supervision of the lead teacher.   Please note this is a hourly position starting at $15 per hour.

Recognized as a high performing charter organization -- with campuses receiving the highest performance rating offered in the District of Columbia – we serve students across multiple DC communities. We are looking for thoughtful, visionary and relentless individuals to join our team of professionals.   Friendship is currently seeking an exceptional and dynamic leader for the position of Extended Day Site Coordinator for the Friendship Cares Extended Day Program. Reporting to a Regional Coordinator, general responsibilities include daily operation of the before and after-care program, including, but not limited to: strong leadership, overseeing personnel/program staff (i.e. coaching), consistent monitoring of after-care program, daily student attendance tracking and general program operation.    The Extended Day Site Coordinator should embody Friendship’s core values and will demonstrate the ability to lead and coach program staff to accomplish established objectives. This position requires excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills, superb organizational skills and attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, and a commitment to the mission and culture of Friendship Public Charter School.  The Site Coordinator oversees the daily coordination of the after-care program at their assigned school site, including daily upkeep of the attendance database system, monitoring program flow and structure, maintaining school-based relationships with administrators and teachers, and assisting the Regional Coordinator with the management and training of the frontline staff that instruct daily programs, oversee classroom management, and implement lesson plans to keep students engaged.     When you join Friendship, you are part of a family that encompasses your colleagues and the families we serve. This individual reports to the Director of Food Services and is responsible for preparing and supervising the campus food preparation and serving. This further includes performing specialized tasks in food production and supervising productive kitchen operations.

Friendship has always invested in programming that meets the academic, social and emotional needs of students and families. In these unprecedented times, we recognize that some families find it impossible to balance work and financial demands with school at home. Our in-person learning hub option prioritizes health and safety, while supporting the academic growth of our entire learning community. At each of these Learning Hubs, we will support self-contained pods led by team members with no more than 4-9 students in each pod.   FPCS Learning Hub   Friendship PCS is providing limited in-person instructional school support in the form of Learning Hubs. At each of these Learning Hubs, we support self-contained pods led by team members with no more than 4-9 students in each pod.A learning hub is the school/campus where scholars will attend on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  All learning hubs will be closed on Wednesday. Click here for a video about Learning Hubs at Friendship!    FPCS Learning Pod   A learning pod is the individual scholar and staff cohorts within the campus Learning Hub. - Each pod will be self-contained, and students and team members will remain together in a designated cohort at all times.  - Pods will not be allowed to mix and all members must agree to follow safety guidelines, screening processes and reporting requirements at all times. - A scholar who attends an in-person Friendship Learning Hub will be assigned to a pod and will participate in his/her daily virtual- and distance-learning schedule in the pod. - All individual student materials, including technology, will be provided within each pod. - Attendance tracking will be completed  by the teacher of record. - IEP supports will be given via distance learning within the assigned pod.  - Students and Pod Leaders will have a separate set of devices in school and at home.  - No one will bring devices in and out of Learning Hubs or Learning Pods. - Students and Pod Leaders will be utilizing the same device everyday (# on desk, corresponding # on device). - Devices will be sanitized on a daily basis. - Each student will have a headset with microphones (# on desk, corresponding # on device). - Each student will have instructional container that will go under desk to keep their supplies and resources contained in the space.

FPCS contracts with a variety of volunteer groups in the District of Columbia, to recruit, screen, train, place and support volunteer academic mentors in the District of Columbia Public Schools. School volunteer programs are designed to provide ongoing support to students in grades K-12 during the school day and beyond.
