Friendship Public Charter Schools is a thriving network of college preparatory public charter schools. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Friendship serves over 4,000 students in preschool to grade 12 and guides a growing network of alumni to college completion annually. 80% of students come from low-income households. 98% are African American or Latino. Responsibilities

  • Conducts eligibility determination and re-determination for customers who are in need ofChild Care Services;
  • Determine Eligibility for Child Care Service for all new and renewing Non-TANFapplicants;
  • Attends subsidized childcare meetings, as needed;
  • Reviews monthly billing statements in partnership with compliance manager;
  • Provides appropriate placement for eligible children;
  • Provide reading and interpretation assistance;
  • Process required forms and documents, electronic or paper, necessary to establish and keep client benefits current;
  • Provide clients with notification regarding eligibility decisions as required by policy;
  • Maintain timely, current, written narrative and documentation of activities concerning individual cases;
  • Act on reported changes in a timely manner including responding to correspondence, phone calls and office visits;
  • Determines the appropriate parental co-payment;
  • Completes detailed reports of in/eligible reviews of customers interviewed;
  • Reviews information provided by customer and applies appropriate rules and polices for the Office of Early Childhood Development (OECD), the District and Federal guidelines;
  • Determines and advises customer if information provided adequately satisfies requirements;
  • Provides the highest level of Customer Service;
  • Applies expert understanding of program policies and procedures;
  • Conducts Records Management;
  • Gain and maintain necessary skills and attend required training to participate in the development and implementation of an environment that fosters, as well as practices, multi-cultural competency;
  • Ensures childcare subsidy vouchers are accurate and terminated accordingly in the subsidy Eligibility and Assignment (SEA) database
  • Honors the right to privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of each family served;

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Family Studies, Social Work, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred;
  • At least 3 years of exemplary and proficient casework or customer service;
  • Competent in Excel & Microsoft Office ;
  • A demonstrated track record of leadership;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to a variety of people;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Detailed organizational skills;
  • Goal and results-orientation; superior problem-solving and critical thinking skills; and ability to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment;
