Friendship Public Charter School operates a thriving network of college preparatory public charter schools. Headquartered in Washington, DC. Friendship serves over 4,800 students in preschool to grade 12 and guides a growing network of alumni to college completion annually. Nearly 70% of students are deemed “at-risk” due to family poverty, homelessness or other complex risk factors and 100% of students are deemed eligible for free and reduced lunch due to community poverty. 98% are African American or Latino. Provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, handling departmental procurement and budgeting activities, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. May also train and supervise lower-level clerical or intern staff.
Effective November 1, 2021, all adult employees, contractors, interns, and volunteers working in person in a public, public charter, independent, private, or parochial school in the District of Columbia, and all adult employees, contractors, interns, and volunteers working in person in a child care facility regulated by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, shall have received a full course of a vaccination against COVID-19 unless they have been granted an exemption from such vaccination pursuant to, and are compliant with the requirements of, Section IV of this Order.”

Skills: Excel (creating spreadsheets), Microsoft Word, Power Point.
Knowledge: Accurate record-keeping techniques and filing systems. Operation of various office machines including a computer terminal. Word processing and spreadsheet software programs, query statements, database programs. Receptionist and telephone techniques and etiquette. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. Modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school and progressively responsible experience as a secretary. Other combinations of applicable education, training and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
