    The mission of Friendship Public Charter School (FPCS) is to prepare students to become ethical, literate, well-rounded and self sufficient citizens by providing a world-class education that motivates students to reach high academic standards, to enjoy learning, to achieve success, and to contribute actively to their communities.

    The Friendship Collegiate Online Academy Lead collaborates with the high school administrative team and supports the development and implementation of policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student.  



    In the role of Friendship Collegiate Online Academy Lead, the individual will:

    • Drive Friendship Public Charter School’s mission and guiding principles to ensure the highest levels of achievement
    • Continue the development of EdOptions Academy’s program, policies, procedures, and external partnerships;
    • Ensure the academic success of individual students by utilizing all levels of academic support available and by maintaining a high level of communication with parents to deliver program information and address individual student needs;
    • Devise and implement virtual and other methods of creating and maintaining a high quality academic and developmental experience for all students enrolled in the Friendship Collegiate Online Academy;
    • Analyze and present data to the Friendship Collegiate leadership team for continuous school improvement;  
    • Monitor enrollment, attendance, progress to graduation, diploma attainment, standardized test participation and performance, college acceptance and college completion among other requirements to ensure the Friendship Collegiate Online Academy;
    • Coordinate efforts with various stakeholders to develop and execute efforts to ensure high school success and college degree attainment, dropout prevention, intervention and recovery support opportunities for students;
    • Engage parents and stakeholders in school and extracurricular activities to foster a community approach to learning and development;
    • Provide state testing support including logistics for scheduling, monitoring, tracking participation and compliance with accommodations;
    • Ensure the monitoring and tracking of all academy assets;
    • Maintain compliance and stay current with state and federal regulations for academic and operational standards/requirements/policies;
    • Teach, co-teach, and/or tutor at least 1 – 2 days per week;
    • All other duties as assigned;

    In the role of Friendship Learning Management System (LMS) Lead, the individual will:

    • Coordinate and collaborate with PowerSchool;
    • Define user roles and create learning courses;
    • Assist with the loading, updating, and organizing of content for each learning course;
    • Keep track of the freshly uploaded relevant courses, materials, and workshops completed by the project team;
    • Provide recommendations for system improvements that would enhance the learning experience

    ·         Highly motivated, confident, and able to work without direct supervision;

    ·         Ability to work well in a team environment and to perform under pressure and meet deadlines;

    ·         Strong verbal and written communication skills;

    ·         Ability to draft clear and concise memoranda;

    ·         Highly organized and attentive to detail;

    ·         Able to have telephone interaction – answer and direct calls as appropriate;

    ·         Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively;

    ·         Help initiate needed school improvements; Define and disseminate information about school policies and procedures to parents, students, staff, and community




    ·         Commitment to providing a world-class education to all students

    ·         Minimum of three (3) years of successful educational experience, prior virtual school and/or non-profit experience preferred

    ·         Operational or logistics experience and/or administrative or management experience

    ·         Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

    ·         Customer focused approach

    ·         Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

    ·         Team player track record with demonstrated leadership skills

    ·         High degree of flexibility, excellent attention to detail, and superb organizational skills

    ·         Willingness to travel for marketing events, field trips, and other school program and professional development and the ability to work extended hours
