Since its founding in 1997 by nationally renowned educator and social advocate Donald L. Hense, Friendship Public Charter School has prepared thousands of students to become high achievers. One of the nation’s largest and highest-performing public charter school networks, Friendship operates 12 Washington-area schools serving more than 4,200 students in pre-K to grade 12. They include an International Baccalaureate elementary and middle school, a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) high school, early college preparatory high school and the District’s only Reggio Emilia public charter early learning center. Working directly with the Chief Communications Officer (CCO), the Communications and Social Media Manager is responsible for executing strategies and developing content that amplify our mission to develop college-ready scholars from pre-K-12.
