Friendship Public Charter School operates a thriving network of college preparatory public charter schools. Headquartered in Washington, DC, Friendship serves over 4,000 students in preschool to grade 12 and guides a growing network of alumni to college completion annually. 80% of students come from low-income households. 98% are African American or Latino.  The mission of Friendship Public Charter School (FPCS) is to prepare students to become ethical, literate, well-rounded and self-sufficient citizens by providing a world-class education that motivates students to reach high academic standards, to enjoy learning, to achieve success, and to contribute actively to their communities.


The Talent Scout is a valuable member of the Talent Acquisition Department. The Talent Scout serves our students by effectively performing a variety of recruitment and administrative functions in a high volume Human Resources Department. The Talent Scout is highly detail-oriented with talent analytics experience, strong writing, and customer service skills. This role will be responsible for full life-cycle recruiting: recruiting, screening and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external).



  • Identify and recruit highly skilled educators that are committed to serving in the urban setting, demonstrate proven instructional effectiveness, and subscribe to the organization’s charge and educational philosophy.
  • Support recruitment of top talent for mid-year and school year vacancies.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Business Manager to ensure the accurate and timely staffing of instructional vacancies.
  • Develop and implement market strategies and programs to achieve hiring goals
  • Act as an FPCS representative at recruitment related events such as interview days, fairs, and networking events to target and engage with ideal candidates.
  • Coordinate appropriate steps in the selection process for assigned candidates.
  • Conduct assigned phone interviews to effectively screen candidates based on key value and skill related indicators.
  • Coordinate interview days.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency in recruitment efforts in order to effectively meet staffing needs and targets in a timely manner.
  • Attend weekly with  meeting Talent Team  to receive updates, assist in planning,  and receive appropriate tasks.
  • Maintain a strong partnership with the administrators in order to meet the overall staffing needs of the organization.


  • Bachelors degree required (Degree in related field preferred)
  • Profecient in Excel, Google Docs
  • Detail-oriented and highly-organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Abillity to thrive in a high-volume setting
  • Strong sense of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Dry wit/ infectious laugh
